About the Lowrie Family
Recognized as one of the fathers of Christian schooling in America, Roy W. Lowrie, Jr. was the founding president of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and headmaster at Delaware County School in Newtown Square, PA for over 25 years. He was responsible for integrating The Institute into the masters program in Christian School Administration and bringing it to CIU. The Institute has drawn hundreds of international educators to CIU over the years where spiritual and professional skills were enabled.
The Lowrie family has had connections to CIU and IICSE over the years. Roy's wife, Peg; son, Roy; daughter-in-law, Ruth; and daughters, Janet Nason and Ellen Lowrie Black have all taught in the IICSE and made significant contributions to the field of Christian education. The Lowrie Center at CIU will honor the family as it influences Christian school education around the world.
